New! PhD Student Development/Support: We are offering (i) a 50% discount on the conference registration fee and (ii) a reduced Quarterly Review of Economics and Finance (QREF) subscription rate of $25 to all PhD students who attend the conference. The regular subscription rate to the QREF is $103. In addition, we are offering support (hotel and/or airfare expense primarily) to a number of PhD students who might need assistance to travel to the conference to present their papers. Students requesting support are simply asked to write to the Program Chair, Lloyd Blenman, together with a letter from their adviser, by January 15, 2008, confirming their student status. All development awards will be handed out in person on Saturday March 1, 2008 at the James A Gentry Breakfast. Best Paper Awards: The MFA Awards Committee will offer Best Paper Award Prizes in the areas of (1) Corporate Finance (2) Fixed-Income (3) Investments (4) Asset Pricing Theory and Risk Measures (5) Market Microstructure (6) Derivatives (7) Banking and Financial Institutions (8) International Finance (9) Financial Planning, Insurance and Education. Please note that these awards will be made only if, in the opinion of the MFA Awards Committee, a paper in the track warrants such a decision. The decisions of the MFA Awards Committee will be final. |
